African Parks: Safeguarding Africa’s National Treasures with Savannah Aircraft
African Parks is a trailblazer in conservation, dedicated to the protection and revitalization of some of Africa’s most cherished national parks. Their unique model, which partners with governments and local communities, places the long-term management and rehabilitation of these protected areas in their capable hands. With an astonishing footprint spanning 19 national parks and protected areas across 11 countries, African Parks is making an undeniable impact on over 14.2 million hectares of some of the world’s most ecologically valuable landscapes.
Among the many resources African Parks deploys to protect these vast areas, our aircraft play a vital role in their anti-poaching operations. In their quest to safeguard wildlife and maintain the delicate balance of these ecosystems, the need for reliable, efficient, and durable aircraft cannot be overstated. This is where the Savannah comes in.
African Parks currently operates two Savannahs in the Central African Republic’s Chinko National Park, where these aircraft have become an indispensable part of the park’s anti-poaching efforts. Their versatility, durability, and low operating costs make them ideal for patrolling large, rugged territories. Recently, African Parks expanded their fleet by taking delivery of two more Savannahs, which are now providing essential support in Chad’s Zakouma National Park and Benin’s Pendjari National Park—two of Africa’s critical wildlife havens.
Looking forward, African Parks' trust in Savannah Aircraft continues to grow. In 2022 and 2023, they placed an order for an additional eight Savannahs, which will soon be in service across parks in Malawi, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, the Republic of Congo, Benin, and Zambia. These aircraft will enhance anti-poaching capabilities, allowing for quicker response times, better surveillance, and broader coverage.
Additionally, with the recent introduction of the new 4-seat Ventura 4, African Parks has secured two more of these advanced aircraft for use in Zimbabwe's Matusadona National Park and Chinko National Park in the Central African Republic. The Ventura 4’s increased capacity and versatility provide even more options for park management and anti-poaching missions, demonstrating African Parks' commitment to staying at the forefront of conservation technology.
At Savannah Aircraft, we are incredibly proud to support African Parks in their crucial work of conserving Africa’s natural heritage. Through our partnership, we hope to contribute to the protection of these incredible landscapes and the wildlife that calls them home.
